In 2015 Price Waicukauski Joven & Catlin LLC won two of the largest verdicts awarded by juries in the United States. $31 Million Awarded to Family in Federal Civil Rights Case – On October 6, 2015, a federal court jury in Hammond, Indiana, handed down verdicts totaling $31,350,000 against employees of the Indiana Department of Child Services and a State Police Detective for violating the civil rights of Roman and Lynnette Finnegan and their children. $79 Million Verdict For Landowners Against Telecom Company – PWJC’s attorneys led a trial team that obtained a $79,014,140 verdict from a federal jury on February 6, 2015 in favor of a class of landowners and against a telecommunications company and its parent company that built its fiber-optic-cable network on landowners’ property. The companies used fiber on almost 800 miles of property for commercial telecommunications without obtaining legal authority from the landowners.Read More
On March 18, 2016, Judge Jon E. DeGuilio of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Indiana issued an order denying Simon Property Group’s motion for summary judgment as to the antitrust claims of the plaintiff, Gumwood HP Shopping Partners, L.P.
