What is Seroquel®?
Seroquel® is an oral prescription medication. A dibenzothiazepine derivative, manufactured by AstraZeneca (originally approved by the FDA in 1997), the prescription drug was specifically defined and marketed as an atypical antipsychotic medicine. The drug is typically used to treat:

• Symptoms of schizophrenia;
• Seroquel® may also be used alone, or with lithium or divalproex, to treat acute manic episodes in adults who have a condition called Bipolar I disorder.

Seroquel® has also been prescribed off-label for many less severe psychological disorders and for disorders in children.

What are the legal and medical issues with Seroquel®?
Recent studies seem to indicate that the prescription medication Seroquel® may have serious side effects and could pose a health risk to particular individuals and may cause blood sugar disorders (e.g, diabetes) or pancreatitis.
