On October 20, 2016, after a three-day trial, a Fulton County jury awarded Jeanne Thompson $519,250 for injuries received in a 2014 car crash.  Ron Waicukauski represented Ms. Thompson as lead trial counsel and is happy to report that the verdict has already been paid in full.

Ms. Thompson was T-boned while driving on US 31 south of Rochester, IN.  She suffered a soft tissue whiplash injury that left her with chronic pain, chronic sleep deprivation and $47,000 in medical bills.  For more than a year, Thompson fought with the defendant’s insurance company for compensation appropriate for her damages and made no progress.  Local counsel Dan Tankersley of Winamac asked Ron to take over as lead trial counsel earlier this year.  Within eight months, the trial was won and the verdict was paid.

Ron reported: “Although the insurance company viewed this as a minor injury case, the reality for Jeanne was nerve root damage resulting in chronic neck pain and sleep deprivation, both of which were objectively verified and confirmed by treating doctors, lay witnesses and defendant’s own medical experts.  I find this result especially gratifying in light of the conservative venue, the significant impact of the injuries on Jeanne’s life, and the insurance company’s refusal to offer a fair settlement.”
